Nice, clean and convenient

Nice cozy little motel with friendly owners conveniently located directly at the main junction of Carrizozo. Everything you expect from a motel is there. As Carrizozo is a small community, the traffic even at the main junction is not very heavy. Two gas stations and 2 shops directly across the street, plus a good Mexican restaurant.

Welcome to Rainbow Inn & GIft Shop

The Rainbow Inn rests in the heart of Carrizozo.  Its convenient location is central to many of New Mexicos scenic attractions and the Inn provides a comfortable homelike environment to road-weary travelers.  Family and pet-friendly, our dedicated staff are here to make your stay an enjoyable experience.

The opportunities for fun and adventure in SouthEast New Mexico are endless!

We are located near the historic town of Capitan, home of Smokey the Bear, where the legendary capture of Billy the Kid took place. Perhaps you would like to have a cocktail? Stop in at the No Scum Allowed Saloon, located inside our very own Ghost town of White Oaks.

The Valley of Fires Nature Trail is sure to bring out the adventurer inside you.  As one of the youngest lava flows in the continental US, The Valley of Fire Nature Trail offers a unique geological experience.  Hikers and Backpackers flock to the White Sands National Monument to observe the unique ecology and beautiful landscape.  Lincoln National Forest is another favorite nearby hiking and backpacking destination.  If you are interested in Archaeology, Three Rivers National Park is about 10 miles away. There are over 20,000 petroglyph images for you to enjoy.  The fishing in the area hosts German Brown and Rainbow Trout.

For avid skiers, just south of Rainbow Inn is the town of Ruidoso, home to the Apache Ski Area, and a destination hot spot for snow lovers.  Haven't had your fill? Just head a little further south on 244 to Cloudcroft, a lovely little mountain town with great skiing.
