You may enjoy the outdoors and find yourselft raveling to the White Mountain or Capitan wilderness areas for hiking and backpacking. Also nearby is Three Rivers Petroglyph Park,where you can see over 20,000 petroglyph images. We are located near the historic towns of Capitan - home of Smokey Bear and Lincoln, where the legendary capture of Billy the Kid took place. If you are skiing this winter, we are not far from Cloudcroft, a lovely little mountain town with great skiing and close to the the Sunspot observatory. Ruidoso, home to the Ski Apache ski area and other attractionsis a great place to visit. Tularosa is only 30 miles south and the amazing ghost town WhiteOaks, is an old gold mining town with a rich history you’ll want to see.

About Carrizozo Music in the ParkCarrizozo Music in the Parks sponsors a series of family oriented music programs for adults and children in a safe and fun environment. The concerts are free to the public thanks to the support of donations from individuals and local sponsors. We host five summer concerts and at least one concert during the winter, featuring genre such as blues, brass, jazz, classical and rock.
